I was wondering the same thing!
No. They do not. I called and asked. ;)
Considered one of San Diego most iconic taco shops with authentic Mexican food made fresh and hot to order. Simple menu with the original California burrito being the most popular. Try the loaded hashbrown burrito any time of the day. Street parking only. Stay and enjoy the scenic view of Torrie Pine preserve and state park. Sunsets are free daily. In a rush? Call ahead with your order.
Gone here since I was a kid. Great place to visit for some inexpensive food. I almost always get the rolled tacos and a quesadilla.
My Boyfriend and I were visiting San Diego from NJ and we couldn’t wait to try some tacos. After our walk on the beach we decided to give Roberto’s a try. The locals also recommended this spot. However....we were highly disappointed. Everything was dam near tasteless. The rice was bland, my boyfriends chicken in his tacos were dried out, and overall it just sucked. The cashier seemed to rush taking our order. I ordered chicken rolled tacos and the cashier put in my order. Then I noticed a hand written sign that said “no chicken for rolled tacos.” So had I not seen the sign who knows what kind of tacos I would’ve had. The cashier could’ve did the courtesy of letting me know. Anyways, the locals seem to like it...but it wasn’t our cup of tea.
Had the Shrimp burrito. Was a snack size burrito and tasted okay. Price was above $8. It just made me less hungry.
great food. great location. fast service. always parking. nice views. can't complain. recommend if u need quick lunch.
Carne asada burrito is the bestCame all the way from Iowa for one
They are taking advantage of the location and struggling to be consistent quality
The OG taco shop for me since I was a kid. The breakfast burritos are as good as the view. Gets crowded with the lunch crowd on the weekdays and also weekends, especially during the summer.
Good food, but we left before we could order because of a half hour wait... For take out mexican food?
Usually love this place ordered fish burritos and it was no bueno. Fish was heavily breaded stiff and tasteless probably frozen from a box. Limited if any white sauce. Will not be ordering that ever again.
Short hop away from beach in Carmel valley area. The taco shop is nestled amongst homes and is a hangout for beach goers and locals. Menu is easy to order from - the usual Mexican fare of burritos and tacos. Food is good at reasonable prices. The dining experience is causal and affords a distant view of the ocean.
Subpar for San Diego. Beans, rice, and guac were very bland, and guac didn't taste fresh. Burrito wasn't filled very much. Just not worth the price. Also, their door sounds like a dog being kicked when it creaks open, making sitting outside an unsettling experience.
I stopped by this shop after few years, I have tried grilled chicken burrito, but it was not soft meat and taste wasn't good compared with few years ago. I'm little disappointing 😞😓😩
Mediocre and they've raised the prices. Likely won't be going here again.
I always stop in for lunch when in the area. Great food and great prices. The ocean view isn't so bad either.
10 stars! Delicious, affordable, down home and AUTHENTIC
We stumbled upon this place while heading back to our hotel. It is very small and located on the side of the road in a residential neighborhood. It looked cute and busy so we figured we should try it. This was some of the best Mexican food we have ever had. It was all extremely fresh and very well priced. There is no indoor seating so if it is a cooler night, make sure to bring a sweater or jacket. There is also no restroom here. There is a porta potty out back if you really need but I would avoid it if possible. The staff was very friendly and they really love regulars there. I can not wait to come back to San Diego so that we can eat here again!
Great old taco joint. Good outdoor seating. Very casual.
Good food went for my customers they were very happy will visit again soon
Too expensive, I guess it's because of the area.., however the food was prepared very fast. It's okay for a quick lunch if you don't mind paying $10 for a " small " carne asada burrito. If you do go I would suggest a fish taco which wasn't so bad.
Great spot for a sunset burrito! This was the first place that I ever had a California burrito, and my life was changed forever :-)
Carne Asada burrito, looking at Torrey Pines beach, yummy!
I got the “Lite burrito” wet style and it was amaaaazing! Quick, easy, affordable and delicious. Happy that one of my friends recommended this spot.
Subpar for fast Mexican food. There are better places for the same price or less.
Been coming here since the 80's, often after surfing. Always very good satisfying Mexican cuisine. Highly recommended on a sunny day!
Always delivers good, tasty, and fresh food. Very friendly staff. Good to just order and eat outside with a nice breese or just take it to go. Cannot go wrong with either option! Great spot to stop after hiking Torrey Pines too! FYI-alcohol is not serve here.
Good food with generous servings. They sent out our order without one of the burritos that we ordered. Once we noted the missing item, them fast tracked a similar item.
Hadn't been to a Roberto's in at least 25 years. Live across the country now. The rolled tacos were just as I remembered them... delicious. The Del Mar setting is really nice too.
Really good food! Found seating outside and the view was breathtaking. Super close to the beach too.
This spot has been around for a long time. It is quality Mexican food that is inexpensive and delicious. Some items on the menu are standard although others, such as the Lite Burrito are delicious and have excellent combinations of ingredients. There are plenty of options for those who do not eat meat. The portions are solid and the people who work there are always very nice. The structure is that of a standard Southern California taco shop with no inside seating. Plenty of outside seating and easy to access from the street. This shop, along with Kotija are the best in the immediate area.
Really good fresh Mexican food. Love the location. Some thing about ocean air and excellent Mexican food that go together.
I've been going to Roberto's since I was a child and have fond memories of this spot. Yet lately I have felt there is a decline in the quality of food and experience. This was solidified for me last night when I ordered a burrito a bit into something really hard. At first I thought this was a burnt french fry, but after pulling the object out of my burrito I noticed it was a large, sharp wooden spike. This was vert concerning and super dangerous and will be the last time I visit Roberto's.
Yes please! Vegetarian Chile relleno burrito was perfect! Lots of Chile and cheese and great balance of seasoned rice. The carrots were also just right!Thank you!
I really loved the chorizo with egg burrito. The quality was top notch. I asked that they add refried beans and it just made it more delicious. I will definitely come back when I visit. Btw, the young gentleman who took our order was nice and he made me laugh with his monotone voice when he called the order number. 😁 Super cute. Lol
ok casual. order at counter
Would have given a better rating, however when you get 50% of a take out order wrong... it’s hard to award better.
Fast, easy,. In and out with hot burrito after morning workout. Staff were very prompt. Amazing ocean view. Watch speed limit, cops passing through daily. 🤣😃🐬
Excellent shrimp tacos. Fish tacos had way to much breading.
Used to be a favorite post-surf spot. Now not so much. What used to be a great fish taco is now pretty much a fish stick in a tortilla. The red salsa is still fantastic.
From breakfast to lunch every burrito I get here is amazing, fast, and reasonably priced. The location is amazing, and Roberto's makes for a great spot to catch your breath over lunch during a busy day.
Great little place off the Torrey Pines Beach. Great Shrimp taco with guac!
Good food, slightly poor service sometimes but overall a good experience
Good food, no restrooms or place to wash hands
Fast. Friendly. Local. Busy. Walk up inside. Seating outside. Wonderful experience. Ordered the 3 rolled tacos combo! With Guacamole and sour cream! Split it with my Mr. It was perfect! Loved their Guacamole! I totally recommend this little location. No restrooms. Walk in and order and walk out. I would definitely try everything on their menu if I lived here in the area!
Very good, very busy place. Taquitos were awesome. Thx from Arizona.
The perfect spot to grab a Carne asada burrito after doing Torrey Pines or spending the day at the beach. Outdoor seating only, but the weather is usually perfect.
The low review is based on the bad process and service for ordering by phone. We ordered by phone our food and they said will be ready on 30 minutes. We arrived after 30 minutes and then when we came to pick up the order they said now you have to wait another 20 min after you pay for your order because we prepare after you pay. That defeats the purpose of ordering to go and should have been clarified on phone. Decided not to wait another 20 min very frustrated as kids for ready for dinner and had to waste a whole hour.
This is my absolute fav breakfast burrito spot in all of San Diego & I try to stop every time I'm in the area.
Stopped on a whim. Great food great experience. Really pleasant staff.
Good Mexican food. California Burrito was good. Fast and friendly service. Only thing was one restroom is shared between all businesses and restroom seems to be occupied much by coffee shop patrons.
Good food. Sit outdoors. I had Carne Asada burrito -land my husband ordered the Shrimp burrito plus chip and guacamole. It was a lot of food. It’s clear that the locals come here. We’ll visit again. Nothing fancy but good food.
